War Horse is Not a Good Movie

The advertisements for War Horse drew people in, especially me. Watching the movie it seemed long and depressing, the outcome was not worth the time to watch the film. Although this film was meant to be touching, I am here to tell people to not see War Horse.

War horse is about this boy who raised a horse named Joey. When the war came along, he needed to give Joey to help the soldiers in world war one. The horse was meant to be brought back to the boy, but sadly the plan did not work out. Later on the boy himself went to fight in the war, and the horse and boy were reunited when they both were injured.

The movie War Horse was to draw people in by attracting people who enjoy animals and war stories. I am not a big fan of war stories but I do have a special place in my heart for horses. The advertisements did a great job of drawing people into watching this movie, but it was not as good as I had hoped.

Length of movies play a huge role, nobody wants to see a super long movie. While watching this film I was wondering when it would move on and get closer to the ending. I did not think it was going to end. Perhaps it was because I do not enjoy a lot about the war aspect. I felt that it would have been nice if I were a little bit more knowledgeable about wars.

For the animal lovers out there like me, I especially do not think you should see this film. I was not expecting the film to be as gruesome as it turned out to be. I did not enjoy seeing all the dead horses and horses breaking their legs. Seeing Joey get so unbelievably injured was not at all enjoyable to watch. Yes, I expected some clips to make the viewer’s worry about Joey. What I watched was too depressing.

My feelings throughout this film were not happy and joyous. I was feeling angry throughout the movie, almost to the point I wanted to walk out of the theater. I was not the only who felt this way, my friends were also upset throughout the movie. I never felt so sad watching a movie; I could not handle seeing all the harm to the horses. I am sure the film is pretty accurate with the violence that went on with the horses in world war one, but I feel that they did not need to be so revealing.The

Hannah Goodwyn is a critic for CBN.com and she reviewed the movie War Horse. She advocates “Watching War Horse will remind you what it is is like to experience a film that is good on all accounts.” I disagree with her statement because I do not believe it was good on all accounts. I found this film to be too long and depressing. To me the outcome of the film was not worth the input. I say to all people they should not see this film unless they want to be depressed and angry.
